One of the rare good photos of technical architekture !
The coole blueisch tone suports the metal charakter of this interesting construktion ! ( What is it ?)
regards Dirk
Excellent composition. I'm quite fond of this structure personally, an amazing feat of engineerng. It's a canal 'gate'. Traditional canals use lots of gates at different heights to raise the barge up an incline. The Falkirk wheel uses a rotating carriage which lifts the barge out of a lower canal and raises it to a higher one. Thus moving the barge hgher in a relatively short distance.
Life Magazine Revisited?
What a great image Ben. It really does remind me of 1930s Life covers. Good Stuff!
