Cool in the Heat
Are you traveling through California now? Was that on the beach or were you in the Zoo?

Hi Sergey,

I was in California in May. The pelican is wild. It was among a bunch of pelicans resting at the rock outside "the cove" in LaJolla. Are you aquainted with that region?

I am from San Francisco Bay area (northern California) - the Pelicans are quite common just about anywhere near the ocean. I did not have a digital camera back then ;( . But I am somewhat surprised he let you come so close. I guess you can not harm them there and they know they are protected.

Well, I had to climb down a pretty porous rock in its maximum rate of errosion in order to get to this point of view. I had to sneak a bit in the beginning but after an hour or so, the pelicans were not bothered at all by my presence. I'll post some more later on.
Cheers, Jens.
