Hi Peter,
Thanks for the comment...
Yes weather is getting better the bugs let us know innit...;-)
I noticed this little Hoverfly ( 8 mm in length ) basking in the sun .
Took my gear out and started to shoot with different set up's...
I liked the combination EC1.4 and EX25...on tho the Sigma 150mm macro ..
Cheers,

Whoa! That's mighty sharp!
The Sigma 150mm macro seems to like the EC1.4; this image has quite a bit of contrast and resolution. Keep it up!
Let's see, 8mm is about the width of one of the fly's black bands, no? Any cropping?
Ciao!

Hi Leon,
This was shot with the EC1.4 and the EX25 connected to the lens...
Distance to the fly about 20 cm and yes the black bands you see on the back are about 8mm the real size of the fly.
Yes I did a crop so show how far you can go without loosing detail..
Thanks for your comment ...

Hi Fons, Considering you have two extra pieces of equipment attached between the lens and the body you still have great detail here. It inspires me to get the 1.4x converter! Well done. Ingrid

Thanks Fons. The reason I asked about their size is because I believe we have a similar, if not the same, critter here. I photographed a couple of them on a light blue flower back in January with my 14-54, thought not at 2 centimeters. Again, a great shot!
Ciao!
