He's my one and only grandson, so I think he's kinda cute myself !! As far as the shallow depth of field goes, all I did was set the mode dial on Program Shooting, got down to his level, focused on his face and took the shot.

Pity this wasn't taken in the portrait format as the lad's hand looks detached from his body in the landscape format. Nice lighting on his face though.
