I have posted a "straight" picture of this scene - this is the same picture with a fairly light HDR treatment.

Wow - the HDR "treatment" really makes a difference doesn't it. I think that it almost gives the image a painterly quality.

Thanks Dave. I like both but perhaps they fulfill different functions. I'm not a purist, I have drawn and painted and I tend to think of the result as an "image" rather than as a photograph, a drawing or a painting. When I retire I would like to experiment with combining all those forms!
