Karen,
Wow what a shot, very well done. I was not so lucky when I was art Troup Head. When was this taken?

Thanks a lot Peter. I was up there at the beginning of August this year, there was loads of Ganets flying right past us on the cliff top, nests with babies too! Seems to be the best time to go, managed to fill a 2GB card in no time, a great place to play with your new E3? See you and Karen soon,

Cheers

Hi Karen,

Beautiful shot. A few years ago, we took the ferry from Shetland to the Orkneys. When we past Fair Isle, one of these birds flew very close alongside the ship and then, for a short moment, looked straight into my eyes. I was a little perplexed and did not manage to get my camera up before it was too late.
Pity ;-)))

Best regards ……Torvald

Cheers Fons,
Yes you're right Fons, they were flying right past my head, you can sit on the cliffs and watch the babies in the nests and watch the Gannetts having fun zooming past your head, sometimes hovering right in front of you! Sometimes they were too close to focus on, amazing to watch!

All the best,

Karen

Thanks a lot Torvald, they're beautiful birds, seems to be the way of nature, when you're prepared no animals appear, and when you're not everyting comes out! If you ever get the chance I'd highly recommend going to a Gannet colony, something amazing about seeing these beautiful birds zoom right past your head.

Cheers,

Karen
