I am still waiting for my Hoya R-72 filter to arrive (my original IR outfit was loaned to my daughter to use on a school field trip and she lost the whole rig).

So, I decided to stack up Red Green and Blue filters until I could see no light through them when holding the stack up to my eye... and... Just like the Infared R-72, I could see nothing through the stack. So took out the Olympus C-2100 UZ and used a Tripod (this exposure was about 1/4 second at F8.0) and held my "makeshift IR" stack in front of the lens...and sure enough, the C-2100UZ can see light we humans cannot.

Nice!

I never tried stacking filters like that, but I see that even some of the IR is getting blocked making for a very contrasty image.

Sorry to hear about your other IR gear, what a bummer!
