Jetty jumping

These kids were jumping off the Henley Beach Jetty (suburban Adelaide, Sth Aust) and I just happened to be there at the right time. They were a bit worried that I was working 'for the government' because I had a big camera in hand and they weren't supposed to be doing it. When reassured I was just doing it as a personal hobby they were more than happy to continue their jumping fun. It had been 38 that day.

Hot morning on the beach, Semaphore Pk, Sth Aust

This shot was taken this morning at about 9am and it was 30 degrees. It has now hit 40 degrees and we're expecting 41 tomorrow. Just thought I'd post this for all you people in the northern winter who are freezing your butts off ...... The authorities are worried that there are going to be major bushfires if any fireworks displays get out of hand tomorrow night with NYE celebrations as we've had a week of temperatures over 30 degrees.

Ellen with studio lighting

This is my first attempt at using studio lighting (set up by someone else who needed it for an assignment she was doing with her FF Bronica film camera). The model is my 9 year old daughter.

Storm damage to jetty

Same jetty, viewed from the opposite direction. This storm damage was creating quite a bit of interest.

Storm damage

Taken after a violent storm and king tide on Wednesday night. This jetty has stood for over 100 years yet when these boards broke you can still see the wonderful deep red colour of the original timber inside.
