Composition, color, detail - and this is all with c-8080!? It appears as if there is some x-tra sharpening and shadow highlight going on - perhaps you did it all manually - it is all ten point shot nevertheless! I know how small these little fellas are ... ;)

You are right about some c-8080 limitations ( i know you owned one).
I applied a .8bf free plugin, "Luminosity (local contrast)", which causes some noise but improves sharpness.Used NeatImage to reduce that noise and improve sharpness again.Used PictureWindow to smudge and clone out some stuff .Levels were ok.
There are no references points but these fellas are about 1/2 of a common damselfly.
