Great Spotted Woodpecker - Male
Caught this woodpecker on a fence post in our local nature reserve, prior to it flying to its nest in a nearby tree. I am now waiting for the young to emerge.

Very good shot Albert but the size of the posted image makes us sroll up and down to view it....Posting at about 730 pixels high would avoid scrolling....!

Thanks Fons for your comment. With regard to the size I, unfortunately, uploaded the wrong sized picture: it should have had a maximum size of 800px. I don't know how to correct this.
Thanks again.

Hello Shelley - thanks for your kind comment - and by the way I envy you your monitor.
Over here in the UK it is the great spotted woodpecker. There is also a lesser spotted woodpecker, but this is becoming rarer.
Thanks again.

Well that is easy to do Albert,
Go to your folder open the image and click on edit than you can select and upload the new photo you wanted to put on the site...
