NO SUBJECT
Seeing these flower photo's , I guess you are experimenting with DOF.
I like it very much when flowers are set free from the background .
Did you take the shot with manual settings?

I used aperture priority. The intention was to have a far from the subject background (so it would blur) and yet step back enough to have every leaf in good focus. I also intentionally used 50-200 to have a bigger blur effect (as focal plane magnifier).
Today I bought 35mm macro - man this is an incredibly sharp lens! I have tried it only outside the store - was quite impressed with both; macro and landscape shots. Maybe I will try it out this weekend.

Can't wait to see some shots from the 35mm
As you know I have the 50mm macro 2.0 and I like it .
You will be very happy with your new toy also...I am sure...

I know you do. I was also toying with an idea of getting 50mm (there was a big thread comparing these two lenses on Yahoo last week) but then I was quite surprised that MTF is actually higher for cheaper 35mm rather than more expensive 50mm. The 1:1 was also quite tempting. I also am not a portrait person so 50mm with F/2 would be not much of a use to me. The street photography and landscapes is something that I hope I can occasionally use 35mm with. I just took few test shots as we were walking with my wife through Vienna today (the cafes and street flowers) and most of them came out as WOW! I somehow did not even expect it. Honestly, I do not have any wish list on lenses, just take one at a time and learn how to use it well.
