After nearly 2 weeks of constant rain and horrible weather the sun decided to briefly show itself, I grabbed my camera and had a short walk over Burbage Moor in Derbyshire, within an hour the dreary weather was back! It was nice to stretch my legs and enjoy the fresh air for a while.

The contrasting hues of the sun lit slope and the sky lit shadows make an attractive point of interest. The low light really brings out the texture. All and all it makes one want to go for a ramble. I might perhaps have darkened the sky a little using masking and an adjustment layer but that's a matter of personal taste. BTW is that an orchard or tree farm in the depression.

Thanks for your comments bert, I may have another go at darkening the sky, I have just replaced my 17" LCD monitor as it died on me about a week ago, I now have a 19" LCD monitor and have done my best to set it up with Adobe Gamma, the colours seem fine but the brightness may be a little out, it is causing me a few head aches at the moment as it looks completely different when viewing in the day to viewing at night under artificial light, I will have to get one of those devices for setting the monitor up.
BTW The trees you can see are a plantation of pine trees.
Cheers Steve

The colours are overwelming again, have a problem with the clay next to the water, it looks purple on my screen...however the grass is green....!

Thanks for your comments Fons they are always welcome, until you mentioned the purple area of the path I hadn't noticed it, then it jumped out and screamed at you!!!! I think it was caused by me being lazy and using Auto Levels as this can sometimes put strange colour casts on the image. I think it looks more natural now, I have also darkened the sky a little as per bert's suggestions.
Cheers Steve
