NO SUBJECT
Its no mouse ,its no squirel . What is a sevensleeper? A mix between those two...;-) It moved in today, does this mean you brought it home yourself, or it came by itself and took a space in the house/garden.....

Pilch/Siebenschl?fer oder Haselmaus - Muscardinus avellanarius
Right Fons it is neither a squirl nor a mous even they sometimes call it "Haselmaus" - it name is "Siebenschl?fer" belonging to the family of "Pilche" ! They live on all kind of fruits, grain an frequently on smal insects ! They exessively sleep during the day until they wake up at dark to start their verrry active night life ! This verry young fellow was sitting last morning confused in front of or backdoor ! We are feeding him with apples, bananas, grapes and wallnuts! The fotos I took were rather disapointing - bad light even with flash and wrong manual prefocus (the stone seems sharp) ! AF is difficult (impossible) because this guy does not like light at all ! His home for the next days is a big carton box - well furnitured with some stones, some pices of wood- with a small opening at one side for the camera lens ! The LCD monitor is constantly on and shows me when the guy is in place for the next shot ..........
