Beauty is only skin deep
Not a brilliant macro. As soon as the insects come out to play I may have some decent shots.

Macro focus
Fons the autofocus looks for vertical lines, in this case the hairs on the fly behind the head, I let the camera focus then move it back a couple of mm to get the head in focus.

What else can you expect ! The perspective is verry good ! It's impossible sharp ! The only thing - there is never eunough light it seems to reproduce the real shades of colour (i.e.on the flys neck) -or is it the paper thin DOF A SUPER macro Phil !

Hi Dirk, I thought that this fly should have been sharper, perhaps I was too far away and had to crop it too much. There have been very few insects around so far this year, cool dry Spring to blame I think.

Eye's of a a fly
Phil, looks like the emphasis was on the eye's of the fly? who'd ever thought what beautiful eye's a fly could have together with that metalic color they carry on their bodies, on some flies I even see impession's of gold, it's amazing how something that disgusting could be at the same time so pretty. Goog intentional capture.
