You did really well to get close to one of these birds, as soon as they see someone they leave quickly in my experience.

Getting close
Thanks Phil, You are absolutely right when you get to close the take off on you. I had set my camera up on a tripod in the bedroom 2e floor facing the garden. I was waiting for a long time to see them, finally they sowed up . Distance is about 25 metre so with the 50-200mm lens you can get them real close. I have set up with the sigma 400mm to get an even better shot I hope.
