It's an interesting view, wondering is that breakfast, or a late dinner with the Coke glass making it look like a breakfast joint the likes of which I don't see much of anymore, way, way, over the pond.

I must say that the picture is very good. Technically impeccable (white balance, colours, light etc). Is this straight out of the camera?

It's always amazing when a seemingly trivial scene, void of any special content, ends up producing a pretty cool photo. I've noticed that also myself several times.

I guess it's your choice of composition which makes this image so interesting: from the dark bottom right corner to the bright top left one, which builds up some suspense.

It was around lunchtime Scott, and was taken in the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre (Mall) at the Edinburgh Ocean Terminal.

Thanks Juliette, that's the 12-50mm for you. As you are finding it's a nice little lens, just a pity it wasn't designed a little more generously with regard to maximum aperture, especially at the long end. F/2.8 at 12mm would be nice, but f/3.5 is ok. However f/4.0 or f/4.5 at 50mm would be so good.

Thank you Alfred. Not quite straight out of camera, but little done to it. As you've probably read, I'm quite strongly colour blind, so post-processing is a nightmare for me, as is identifying the presence of noise - you'd be surprised how noisy an image can be and me just not see it.
This image is cropped a little, I tweaked the highlights and shadows a touch and, if I remember correctly, added a touch of sharpness. That's pretty much as much as I ever do. If I tell you my usual processing application is Preview on my Mac!!
