The Facts Of Life
Took a visit this weekend to the Old Tucson Studios: http://www.oldtucson.com/Pretty interesting to see where so many of the old (and new) westerns were filmed. Found this sign when we were wandering through some of the old sets. When you live in the DMZ this truly is the facts of life.

Seems a bit drastic
Didn't see it when I took the shot but take a look at the 4th bullet: "If you see suspicious activity do not confront! MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE and call 911" Like I said in the subject it seems a bit drastic to me!

Nyal,
This sign reads like a spoof. There is not any official ensignia other than the letters "BLM". It is quite sad if it truely is official.
One of the directives of the Bureau of Land Management - Arizona is Border Security and Resource Protection. They clearly have thrown in the towel if this is their sign.

You're right Mark
After a bit of research I found that you're right Mark. This sign is a prop, used for a show that is currently being played out for Halloween. However...
This sign is pretty closely related to an actual sign found along the border between the US and Mexico. If you take a look at this rather long URL:
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=illegal+immigrant+signs&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=Mw4&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1262&bih=842&tbm=isch&prmd=imvnsu&tbnid=AIH8Nk7un28sNM:&imgrefurl=http://www.limitstogrowth.org/page/30/&docid=d9VAu3JCluzSwM&w=511&h=427&ei=KeKVTuDKNrL9sQKxuOTvAQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=681&vpy=198&dur=19&hovh=205&hovw=246&tx=146&ty=95&page=2&tbnh=154&tbnw=181&start=22&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:22
you will see that those of us living in the Southwest are truly living in the DMZ! If I go East, North, or South from my current location (Las Cruces, NM) I have to go through a CBP checkpoint. The only way open is South which means heading toward the US/Mexico border!

Copy and Paste
BTW...I just discovered that to view this URL you've got to copy and paste it in to your browser window...for those who are curious!

Nyal,
The "real" sign is disturbing, and the "fake" sign adds some dark humor, but is the same message.
I think I will stick to the east coast.
