Wonderful Image
I think this is a magnificent image. I love the texture of his skin you have been able to capture here.
I believe the shot could have been improved by using the rule of thirds with the eyes centered on the upper-left intersection.
But, a beautiful shot

Forget the rule of thirds, this image delves deeper than the average portrait. I'd love to see what the original image looked like. You can achieve greater control over your image when shooting in RAW. The composition is great but the image has lost it's warmth by over sharpening and too much contrast which makes the image glow cyan in the burnt out areas.
The beauty of photography is that we record that which we see and feel a passion for.
