Swan
This swan is a mascot of sorts at a local winery. It's feathers are clipped so it can't take off, but it still tries to fly. The wings look like the whites are blown out, but they're not. It's motion blur.

Good shot, captured at the right moment. Here a long lens would have improved the image by getting more close to the subject

I fully agree. But I had just parked by the side of the pond and was pulling my camera out and here he came. A few shots later I switched to a 60-300 and got some nice close-ups, but nothing this dramatic.
