Blue Dasher
This dragonfly waited patiently while I went for my camera.

Dragonfly
A beautiful view of the dragonfly. Congratulations on getting it to cooperate ;).
Cropping would improve the picture a bit: too much empty space in front of the dragonfly.

thanks
Thanks Barry and Bob for your ratings and comments. I was trying to give the dragonfly "space to fly into", but it does look like too much. The quality of the image would also be better with an actual macro lens(50mm f2?) I'm still trying to get by with the 14-42 kit lens:p

Considering the small viewfinder and slow shutter this is impressive!
I also use the same kit lens on an E-520 and have serious difficulty with autofocus as it tends to select the background! The small viewfinder makes manual focus difficult too.
I'm impressed with your result with that equipment.

I'm impressed with the lens here as well, this is one of about 5 images. I also had trouble with the camera selecting the subject. It was very helpful that the dragonfly held perfectly still. If you need speed though, this lens would fall short. Thanks for your comments Mike.
