The colours and light are a bit unnatural (photo looks a bit like a painting - was this what you were trying to do?).

Thanks this is a HDR shot and that is just what I was looking to do make it look like a painting.

are you using AEB (auto exposure bracketing)??? this looks a little blurry.... you know you can get rid of the blur by using 1 image for all three "exposures" in PhotoMatix? just use PS or Aperture to over-expose your image by 1 stop (+1), then under-expose by 1 stop (-1), then for the 3rd "exposure" just use the original shot... then it doesnt have to work so hard to minimize blur by using 3 different exposures... it works much better... especially when shooting RAW

You are 100% right, when I shot this back in February I was 2 days old into HDR, I have since become a member
of the HDR Group at myshutterspace.com and have learned how to master the HDR technique including the one shot that you mention.
