hummer shots - thanks!

Hi Dirk, and thank you so much for the lovely comments on my hummingbirds. As you can tell, I'm new to posting albums here. I've entered a couple of the monthly contests but this is my first attempt at making a presence for myself on the site. It is obviously a very hospitable place, with friendly and encouraging members. I also post on dpreview.com (the Olympus forums, of course) and maintain albums on Webshots. But I don't consider myself a photographer as much as an audience of Nature's performances, so when I manage to capture one, I'm always pleased.

I intend to comment more, and will also add some EXIF data when I can find the time. On other sites, it is included automatically. So I guess I'm a bit lazy! : )

Thank you so much, Hans. I've posted a fairly detailed reply to Dirk and noted my intention of providing EXIF data once I get used to having to do this. I tend not to do anything especially "fancy" because I'm not an experienced DSLR owner. But my E-510 is proving to be a good companion so far.

I'm glad you like my little hummingbird.

Thank you, Tim! I'm new here, but learning how the site operates. The rating system is also totally new to me. If people like my photos, then that's all that matters. I'm so glad that you've given me your encouraging feedback on this one.

Best of the set.

I've really enjoyed this image. Amazing clarity. A beautiful action shot. I suppose I need to plant more flowers in my yard to attract these beautiful birds. I love how they hover at will.

appreciation

Thanks Lee, Greg and Carlo. What a great welcome to this site! I've just spent some enjoyable time looking through some of the albums my first commenter-givers have assembled here. There are so many excellent shots - what gifted photographers.

I'm grateful for your feedback. It really encourages me to keeping posting and learning.
