guess the beach?

do we get to guess where the beach is?

hmm. water and sand colors look tropical. the umbrella looks polynesian, but that could also be mexico.

I'm leaning towards somewhere in mexico; carribean side. best guess without more hints.

as to the picture itself, bit overexposed on the sand; would try dropping the contrast/brightness a bit. then put in some "flash fill". also, bit of haziness; did you use a polarizing filter?

cheers

Beach

Thanks for the comment.

The beach is on the island of Redang in Malaysia.

I did not use a polarizing filter. Thanks for the tip of the flash fill.

NO SUBJECT

well, at least i hit the tropic area right. lol.

yeah, a polarizing filter would make the colors in the water "snap", and also diminish the haziness on the horizon.

cheers

horizon

Always, always, always check that the horizon is horizontal before taking the picture. If you don't. please correct it in PhotoShop before posting. A bit of advice I learned the hard way! If you go back. consider moving slightly to the right to put the post between the chairs and loose the headland on the right. Just a suggestion. Roger

horizon

Roger,

Thanks for the tip on the horizon. If you would not have said it, I would not have noticed it. Now I can do something with it actively.
