Mercedes-Benz W125 -Ohhh, the sound of the engine - MUSIC!
Taken at Vintage Racing Car Club "SeeRed" 2007, Castle Donington, England. Car brought over specially from M-B Museum in Germany for demonstration runs :) 1937: 8-Cylinder In-line engine; 5,660cc; 646 bhp at 5,800 rpm - did I mention the sound?

Mercedes-Benz W125 - re-visited:
Anthony -
Music - sweet music (not 'sound'). The abbreviated exhaust system of a straight 8 is fitting for: Hendrix meets Wagner. just imagine Hendrix playing 'Flight of the Valkyries' over the PA system while the MB-W125 puts in some hot laps.
Another thought, while this is a great photograph as is, I can't help but think that this image would look as good - if not better - in B&W, especially since this driver was good enough to dress in attire that matches the machine he's driving. The same is not true (unfortunately) for the driver of the Bugatti.
Ciao!
