Family portrait
Approximately one year ago, my friends asked to me, if I could take a family picture with their "newcomer". They wanted something like old studio picture. Then, I should improvise something at home.

Better than professional!! Rico.
Great photo. B&W works great.
Background is always for me very important and often make the difference between bad and good photo.
Here, the background emphazises your friends. It gives by its texture and blur mode and gret softness at the picture.
Regards
Bruno

All is being said already Ricardo , it's a very nice portrait thats for sure....Just want to make a little note here.Maybe for if you doing a shoot next time......;-))
IMO you cropped it a little to tight ....
Wouldn't it be better , what do you think, when the baby feet where also in the frame ??
The woman could be placed a little higher to resolve the different in hight between her and the man( just a little bit though) , she is obviously smaller than her man so you need to keep that but just a little up would benefit the image I guess...
Anyway , I like it very much and this is just my view of it .....;-))))
Best regards................Fons

Blur halo
Very nice, Ricardo. The only thing is that you should have blurred the background a bit more precisely. Right now the border between the heads and the background is visibly blurred. This is something you can easily fix, by choosing a smaller brush size when unmasking the blurred background layer (I assume that you used a layer technique), to get a more precise transition.

Many many thanks Fons, for your recommendations. Yes I agree with you about the baby feet, I realized this afterwards, when I watched the pictures in my computer. In relation to the lady´s height, I like in this way, because the baby´s head touch her face. But the feet of the baby, out of the frame, this was a terrible mistake. Well, really all of us, enjoyed this "photo-studio" work. I really appreciate your comments, I very much likes, when the people watch with critical eyes my pictures. Thanks again, and best wishes,
Ricardo

Thank you very much Alfred, for your comments.
As I said to Fons, I really appreciate the critical commentaries about my pictures, in this way I can improve more and more my skills. Really, up to now, I have not realized such imperfections in the picture, mainly in the man head. Some blur halo is not so bad for my taste, but really is something that I should improve. I need looking for, in my external hard disc, maybe I posted a version with more mistakes.
Fortunately this was not a professional job, only a way to have a fun with my friends. Best wishes,
Ricardo
