Leon this is one of the best image I have seen lately from you , I'm very impressed of the results you booked with your ZD40-150mm, you would be very happy to use the EC1.4 or the EC2.0 with this lens to get even closer ...
Well done .....

How do you get the distance with the 40-150mm? It's very high definition on this one.
Cheers

G'Day Syed:
Thank you. Ospreys are opportunistic hunters; they meander over bodies of water, scanning for prey that are near the surface; fortunately for them they don't expend a great deal of energy soaring about. This bird was ~80-100 feet above and nearly flew directly over me.

G'Day Fons:
Thanks once again. I was fortunate to have this bird fly almost directly overhead. Yes, for a 'kit lens' the zd 40-150 is capable of delivering rather good color, contrast and sharpness. Of course, it isn't all that fast a lens and it isn't weatherized, consequently the low price. Just the same a high quality tele-converter would be greatly appreciated.

G'Day Pedro:
As I just mentioned above the zd 40-150 really delivers. I wasn't nearly as close to the osprey as this photo suggests. It took some serious cropping to fill the frame this way, which is more proof that optically speaking this 'kit' lens performs. Now, having said that I'd still prefer to have a 50-200 and/or a 90-250 in my gadget bag as well.

G'Day Jo:
Thank you very much. As I explained above it took some serious cropping to get 'this close' - something like 50% cropping.
