1-2mm snowflakes that fell this morning. This is a full crop - no resize - out of the 5MP image. I captured them as they fell onto a pre-chilled linear polarizer backlit by a 7W flourescent lamp. I photographed them through another crossed polarizer and a +33 diopters achromatic close-up lens. Out of 50 attempts, only a few were worth saving.

I like the colours and the cool shapes of this one. Unfortunately, the DOF, which is only 0.5mm at this magnification, made the vertical 'wings' of the flakes a bit blurred.

All comments, suggestions, and critiques are very welcome! (No need to rate.)
