The Angler
According the official Chinese information 70% of the country?s water resources are polluted. This urban angler was trying to catch fish in central Beijing. Maybe to poison his mother-in-law?s cat. It was cloudy and rainy. I held umbrella in one hand and camera in the other. I am still surprised that the photo came out so sharp as it did (although I had to sharpen it a bit in Photoshop).

There aren?t really rivers in Beijing... or at least anything that I could honestly call a river. There are some beautiful at least partly artificial lakes dug centuries ago when workforce was even cheaper than today. This fisherman was sitting by a manmade canal.

Interesting green!
Is the water really that color green?

To Patrick
Yes it was. There arenīt any notable rivers in Beijing. Just few manmade canals (+ some 4-6 small lakes).
This was one of those canals and I think the water was not going anyware.
Pekka.
