How the crytals grew

Thanks, Bevellee. It must have been strange for you to see such things from your summer down under...

The long ice crystals were caused by two following nights with a day at about 0?C and some fog between. So there was plenty of opportunity to grow. This does not happen too often. On the following day the sun appeared and melted the crystals. In this phase I took the photos - the left leaf is humid and the right one is still in the shadow.
