I have tons of waterfall pictures from Iceland but, looking at them now, they really don't convey the impression that I had when I was there. I think large waterfalls are among the most difficult subjects to picture.

This is Dettifoss, Europes largest waterfall. It is remotely located in Northern Iceland. As you can see, from the muddy colour, the water comes from a glacier, in this case Vattnaj?kull, also Europes largest.

This day was very cloudy and rainy and light was sparse as you can see from the exposure data. The lack of contrast due to the mist from the waterfall didn't make it any more inspiring to take pictures. Although, I'm not that much for arranged touristic pictures, I found that having these three family members in the image added somewhat to the impression of the mightiness. I only got one picture as my wife felt the cliff rattle under their feet due to the roar of the water.
