De Blauwe Reiger is met zijn hoogte van 90 centimeter net iets kleiner dan de ooievaar.
Zijn totaalgewicht loopt op tot wel 1600 gram.
Mannetje en vrouwtje zien er gelijk uit.
De vogel broedt in grotere of kleinere kolonies.
Er wordt ??n legsel per jaar in een slordig nest, hoog in bomen gedeponeerd.
De drie tot vijf eieren worden bijna een maand bebroed.
De jongen blijven zo'n 50 dagen op het nest.
De vogel komt overal langs waterlopen voor en eet kikkers, vissen en wormen, maar ook wel kleine zoogdieren als mollen.

To answer your question , the Blue Heron whit its height of 90 centimetres is a little smaller than a Stork.
He can weigh up to 1600 grams.
Male and female are alike, no notable different can be seen.
The bird is breeding in small or large colonies.
They have only one breed a year in a messy nest high in a tree top.
They will breed for almost one month on the eggs ( 3-5 )
The offspring will stay for about 50 days on the nest.
The bird is seen along waterway?s and streams also walking in fields .
They feed on fish , frogs , worms and also small mouse and molls
