By the way, the image looks a bit artificial to my eyes, meaning that the background is too blurred. You could try starting from the original image and apply background blur with a smaller radius for Gaussian blur.

This photo ans the 'Day's work' one fascinating (the whole series too). Both showing peoples life on the streets how I never see before from Israel. Most photos I see from Israel today are from bombing, blood and pain, the people beside who have to live there are not shown on media.

Yes, in most cases when I have an object in front and distracting background I blur the background, sometimes too much, as you have commented. In this case the background is real, just artificially blurred. I also tried to replace the background altogether but didn't like the result.

You are so right Mathias! Life goes on, despite the disruptions. People do their best to lead a normal life, as far as possible. The truth is that it looks much worse when you are far from where things happen. If you are near, you can put things in the right proportions.
