This idea was taken from Dirk Guttman's recent posting on the use of 35mm format lenses reverse for macro photography with digital camera's, I liked what I saw so much of the fly on the pen and the macro shot of the eye's of the fly posted by Dirk, that I decided to give it a try, and this was my result using a coin which measured 3/4 of an inche across the circumference, not bad I'll say, can't wait to get hold of some insect's to experiment with.

Hi Kerland ( or Elder ?)! Nice shot ! Now you are experiencd as I am - the 2 Fly shots where the first I took with a reversed lens . I am thinking to get a proper 62mm TUBE to attach/link the 50mm lens to the camera body (do you know a source ?)! You would get less vignetting with a bigger lens (in diameter and by moving the lens as close as possible to the oly lens ! With my Minolta 50 mm f1.4 lens it turned out that I get more magnification as more I move the system away from the subject (the possible range is 15 - 33 mm) !

62mm lens adapter
Hi Dirk, thanks for your comments, your first attempt with the reverse lens was really two very stunning shot's no one dare to compare. About the 62mm tube, you could try......CKC Power digital cameras & accessories, you can locate them online, there fax number is....845-359-7886, they have a very helpful guy there by the name of Tom, that I'm sure would be very happy to assist you. Good luck and don't forget to keep us informed. Regards

Reverse 50mm lens
Fons I appreciate your view and comment thank you. Fons if you already have a 50mm f1.8 or brighter lens I think all you need to do is purchase a 52 to 52mm macro coupler which carries on both ends or sides 52mm male threads, don't know what filter threads the E300 carries if that is the camera you're going to use, that is all I used to attach the lens to the tube, it will also attach a standard lens and a 50mm lens together, hope that helps....Good luck with your experiment.
