Katrina,
I like the subject facing away from viewer and I like the branch that adds a compositional effect. I think the composition does need some kind of tweeking, it is very left sided in its balance. Still, nice to view.

You are right about the strong emphasis to the left, but I didn't want to lose the tip of the outrigger on the right.

I'll try to do better :)
