Pekka Nihtinen Mongolia welcomes you

I was travelling from Beijing to Krasnoyarsk in early March and spent 5 days in Mongolia. I rented a car and guide/driver to take for 3 days to the steppe. The numerous tourist ger camps are open only from spring to autumn so I had to stay with a nomad family. Here´s a view from my host family´s winter camp in the morning.

Arun Prabhu Mongoose

Also called Herpestidae by scientific name, Mongooses are small carnivorans found in southern Asia, Africa, and southern Europe, as well as some Caribbean and Hawaiian islands. The mongoose has a similar appearance to the weasel, despite not being closely related. This creature, shot in my back yard was around 3 feet in length.
