Lee W The Moon

I took this moon shot in an attempt to see how long a focal length I could reach with old lenses in my closet. By combining one 300mm/F4 Pentax prime lens wtih two 2X teleconverters (one Konica Hexanon and the other 7-element Tokina), I got 35mm equivalent FL as long as 2,400mm on an Olympus E500! Diameter of the moon in the picture was about 75% of the frame height.

Victor Biefnot The Moon...

I used here a "42x1 mount" catadioptric russian lens Maksutov-Cassegrain (MC 3M-5CA) 500mm f:8 and a russian 2x teleconverter (TK-2M) fitted with an adaptor. I got then a focal lenght of 2000 mm.

Victor Biefnot The Moon..., another version.

I revised the shot I intitled "The Moon..." uploaded on 17-Jan-2011 at 11:33 cest, because I found the result unconvencing. Thus, I reprocessed the original picture in order to show up a better contrast and craters discrimination.

Mike Bywater The Music Room

the music room at Shibden Hall, a preserved Tudor house. I freely admit to some serious processing in this image which was a 1/5 sec exposure (thank you IS).
