this is a picture of a safe house on the crossing to holy island in northumberland, the island itself can only be reached using a causeway which is tide dependant so these platforms are for anyone unfortunate enough to be caught out by this incoming tide. climb up and spend a cold night :(

Leon Plympton Regional Airport - 1

It was a sunny (albeit crisp) day here in north central Florida. I spent some time at one of my favorite places - the local airport. Next month we're going to have an air show, which I'm sure will have plenty of action, but today's images are much more static.

I'm wondering if I ought to consider submitting some photo-files to Airliners-dot-net. Their screeners have extremely critical eyes. Far more of my photo-files have been rejected there than accepted.

Comments & Critique = welcome.

This turbo-prop twin Beech is sporting the orange and blue colors that are synonymous with the University of Florida Fighting Gators - and looks mighty fine. Go GATORS!!!

This McDonald Douglas (MD600N) 8-place helicopter is such a rich blue that the sky paled by comparison - even with the polarizer filter. Both the MD-600N and its smaller cousin (the MD-520N) sport the new NOTAR technology; neither helicopter has the traditional tail rotor, ergo the name: NOTAR (NO-TAil-Rotor).
