Arun Prabhu Red-wattled Lapwing

Also called Vanellus indicus by binomial name. Shot this bird at a nearby lake. Red fleshy wattles in front of each eye and long yellow legs are prominent features of this plover.

A temporay thaw in monsoon rains saw this plover out in the open foraging. This bird is also called Vanellus indicus by binomial name. You can see the prominent red wattle in front of the eye.
