I got up at 04:20 to get into position to catch the morning sunrise as it came up over White Moss on the moors above my village, I didn't really like the 50/50 split between sky and FG but it was the only position I could get to catch the reflection in the small puddle on the rock. Within a few minutes the colours in the sky had gone.

Nice color, Steve. I am always very impressed by your way of using wide-angle lens to include interesting FG in landscape.

I think the 50/50 works here because of the interesting detail in the lower half that adds weight to it.

Very nicely done.

10+

Well done again Steve, the 50/50 split works fine here...the foregound and sky are just great.
I have to give you also credit for getting out of bed so early to make this beautiful shot .

Best regards,

Thanks

Many thanks Lee, Jim, Pawel and Fons for your comments they more than makes up for the early start, it is certainly worth the effort of dragging yourself out of bed to catch this wonderful time of the day, although I did get up the morning before to be met with a cloudless sky so no joy that time!
It's also worth making a point of knowing exactly where the sun will come up, I was convinced it would come up from a different location which resulted in a quick change to my original plan and you may only get a few minutes before the light changes and you miss the opportunity.
Cheers Steve

Another great shot Steve. Just proves that the early bird does catch the worm.

Well done Steve,
The 50/50 is working in advance of this picture, because the various color in the sky, it makes a counter weigth and keeps the picture in ballance.
If you crop out the air just about above the rock at the right corner, leaving just a little stroke of blue sky you aleinate a little too much and I think.

Thanks for sharing Hans
