During a recent walk through Paynes Prairie I had this immature Red Shoulder Hawk make a 'fly by'.

No kidding! Just the same, I suspect I'll be investing in the ZD 50-200, along with the 1.4 TC. It'll be a while before I be getting a 300mm lens. As I mentioned to you not long ago, I'm also considering the Sigma 150mm macro.

BTW: Before I forget, I must have been extremely tired when i posted this photo. It truly is a red shoulder hawk, as I explain in the text. It's not a red tail hawk, as I titled the photo (sheeez!).
