Thanks Manuel. I am getting more comfortable with the Adobe Camera Raw software and I have adopted a simple proceedure for high contrast, colorful subects. I expose so that the brightest part of the scene (the right edge of the histogram curve) is the highest it can be without overexposure. Then reduce the exposure setting in ACR until it looks right to my eye and continue with the rest of my post processing.

Thank you Sergio. I'm currently researching dslr cameras looking to eliminate the 12 second wait while the 8080 writes a raw file. I've discovered that it is going to be very expensive to equal the lens performace of the 8080. It's unfortunate that Olympus has discontinued the C series.

Thank you Steve. As with floral shots, it's easy to blow out the reds but bracketed exposure saves the day.
