I like this backlit scene of flying waxwings against the dark forrest. So, I figure some of you might like it too.

Cheers, Jens.

Taken with my Tokina 300/2.8 the other day. Monopod in belt for mobility.

Come-on all! - Let's go!

Backlight often makes sensational effects; be it backlit fog, trees, or birds in flight. Actually I like not dark, but the blues in the background, and black, of course, makes it look more contrasty. Good shot.

Hi Sergey,

when I 'saw' this shot, I didn't notice the voids in the forrest. I had hoped for a more uniform background but it seems like it is OK since you like it. My wife likes it too.

Cheers, Jens.

Thanks Eric.

I am thinking of including into my 2006 printed calendar. I think it will be good for that since there is a few birds to look at.

Cheers, Jens.

Lovely birds, like this picture for it's impact and motion.
The backlight gives it that little extra.
Hope those birds will migrate south a little so we can see them over here in real live also...

Thanks Fons,

I'm sure they are heading further south because they have finished everything that looks even close to a red berry here. There is one in the bottom of the picture that has got its bill all reddened. I hope they will reach the Netherlands so that you can get the opportunity to take their portraits.

Cheers, Jens.
