Thank you Juliette. Fabulous lens. It will be slow focusing on the E-M5, so probably OK for flowers but not critters.

ah.. that explains a lot to me... as I am mostly "shooting" critters, and was realy disappointed with this fine lens ( I used it a lot on my e-620

When the only macro I had left, after the theft of my main equipment, was a broken AF, Sigma 105mm, which I had to learn to manually focus. Now I'm repeating what every one else told me, they don't know who they got anything before. S-AF, as keeping the shutter half down after AF allows refocusing, but straight M can be much faster with a slow focusing lens.

Very nice shot indeed. The only thing which would make it even better was if the background was a bit more blurred and/or darker.

I agree with you absolutely Alfred, in fact I had reservations about posting because of the background. In retrospect, I should have used f/5.6, but was trying to make sure that I got reasonable focus into the bell of the flower. Post-processing, as you'll know by now, I don't really do, so darkening just the background is out. I do all of my after work on a shot just using the Preview application on my Mac. Even my entry for the current Photo Contest (which I won't show for obvious reasons) was produced just using Preview - manic work with the sliders!
