A stolen moment of feline self awareness.

My second session as a studio photographer. Shot at ISO 800 to introduce grain.

Camera at 45 deg from mirror. 500w flood @ 3200k 45 deg camera left. 500w flood @ 3200k 45 deg camera right. Three 50w quartz halogen spots on a track overhead.

These are providing the catchlights in the cat's (Cotton) eyes.

A backdrop was angled at 30 degrees to created partial darkness to partial light gradiation.

Test shots were taken to check lighting w/o Cotton.

Needless to say the hard part was getting the subject to hit his mark.

When he did I fired 12 shots in continous mode.

Studio work is challenging - so much control but so much work to get what you want! I trully appreciate pro studio photographers

Mike, I like this cute shot. You captured a very interesting moment. Lighting is good, except highlights in eyes. IMHO, three highlights in one eye are confusing.
Best,

Thanks for the kind feedback Lee. When I do prints at full size I am going to remove a highlight two.

Again thanks!

Mike
