Swedish winter mountains about one week ago.

I just came home this morning from a week-long winter hike with my son and his class mate in the Swedish mountains. The weather was very cold and I had trouble keeping the camera alive. We had sunny skies as well as cloudy weather with some times heavy snowfall

This image shows pretty typically the landscape when the sky is overcast. The trail is marked by these crosses, 2 meters above the ground, that you can see continuing to the far right.

I promise, this is quite a challenge for a photographer! And... I hope you like it!

I appreciate all kinds of comments, critiques, and suggestions. Go for it!!!

Cheers, Jens.

great contrast

I really like the accents of color and humanity on the white background, with the grey accents of the signs. It makes me cold just looking at it--yet it is not at all an unhappy kind of coldness because the colors speak to the desires of the people to be there--these are no abandoned hikers lost in the woods!

This shot reminds me of how hard winter is to get interesting photos when everything's white! Here in Wisconsin it looks like this too except we have lots of trees around. You always have to increase exposure to get white right. Nice shot Jens!

Not the E1 ?

Hi Jens,

I guess you used the 5050 instead of the E1, because it's more portable ? It must have been tough getting the camera to focus, give the lack of structures in the image. By the way, it seems to me (on this monitor) that the image has a very slight pink cast.
